Welcome to Boxcar Pizza, where passion for pizza meets quality ingredients and exceptional service. At Boxcar, we're not just another pizza place. We're a locally owned business dedicated to crafting the finest pizzas in Portland, OR. Our journey began in August of 2020 by longtime pizza maker and restauranter, Odie OConnor. Odie first got into making Detroit Style Pizza during the quarantine of 2020 after he temporarily shut down his first pizza business, Baby Blue Pizza during mandatory quarantine. After toiling in his home kitchen for months, working to perfect his Detroit Style Pizza dough recipe, Odie found out about a small pizza shop for sale and decided to take the jump and open up Boxcar Pizza. Since opening, Boxcar has received multiple awards, accolades, and has been featured in several media outlets such as Netflix, KOIN6, EaterPDX to name a few. At Boxcar, a vegan meal doesn’t mean you need to compromise on taste or flavor- it’s just really great pizza that happens to be vegan.

Why Sourdough?
